Mental Health Awareness Week Puts California in the Lime Light
The golden state turned lime green during Mental Health Awareness Week! From October 5 to 11, Californians united to increase awareness and promote dialogue around mental health.
Thank you to all who participated in Mental Health Awareness Week activities online and in communities across the state. From walking for awareness to posting photos featuring lime green gear to pledging to end stigma, we were overwhelmed by the shows of support for the mental health movement. Together we spread the messages that people are not defined by their diagnosis and that everyone deserves a healthy, happy and productive life. See the images below for a glimpse of how Californians came together.
Californians laced up their tennis shoes to reduce stigma step by step. Several counties took the message to the streets coordinating awareness walks.
Many organizations participated in the Ribbon Pledge Drive, encouraging individuals to publicly pledge their support for mental health awareness and let others know that Each Mind Matters.
Elected officials also did their part to raise awareness during Mental Health Awareness Week.
