Announcing the 2019 SanaMente Grant Awards!
Each Mind Matters and SanaMente are excited to announce the awards for the 2019 SanaMente Mini-Grant Program!
The SanaMente Mini-Grant Program will engage Latino communities across California to promote mental health, reduce stigma and prevent suicide. Applications for this program were accepted last month, and we received many wonderful submissions. The selection process was difficult, but our team of subject matter experts and community stakeholders narrowed down the list to award 10 grants across the state. The SanaMente grant award recipients are:
- Center for Family Strengthening
- Hearts & Lives
- Jewish Family Service
- Latino Health Access
- Mil Mujeres
- NAMI Mt. San Jacinto
- NAMI San Diego
- Northern Valley Catholic Social Services
- RYSE Center
- The Epicenter
These organizations will impact a variety of targeted Latino populations including families, at-risk children, students, faith-based communities, older adults and new immigrants, as well as general Latino populations. Their activities will cover a range of diverse approaches, including some community-driven ideas like art shows, Promotores programs, Directing Change film screenings, social media campaigns, community forums and many more.
We are very excited to support these amazing organizations that will expand the reach of SanaMente: El Movimiento de Salud Mental de California and increase awareness of mental health, reduce stigma and prevent suicide. If you’re interested in getting involved, get in touch with one of these grantees to find out how you can support their efforts.
