Valley Medical Center Mental Health First Aid
You may know CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver. You can call 911. But can you administer First Aid in a mental health crisis? How would you know? And how can you help? Become a Mental Health First Aider!
MHFA is a highly interactive, 8-hour program taught to small groups over two, 4-hour days. The stigma surrounding mental illness often prevents people from seeking help or even acknowledging that they need help. And if they do want help, they don’t know where to turn. Mental Health First Aid equips the public to help persons with mental illness connect to care. Join us at the Valley Specialty Center, Basement Conference Room BQ160 on Fridays: May 15 & May 22 from 1:00pm – 5:00pm.
This course is free and open to the public. To register, call (408) 885-3982 or email [email protected] Course fee paid for by the voter-approved Prop. 63. For more information regarding the course, visit: http://www.mentalhealthfirstaid.org
