Sweep Away Stigma
Putnam Clubhouse members, staff, board members, friends, and community partners will gather on Saturday, May 14th to clean up the Monument corridor in Concord, California. Our cleanup campaign, Sweep Away Stigma, will bring our community together and raise awareness of how stigma impacts the lives of those living with a mental illness.
Please join us and invite your friends and family, too! You can also become a fundraiser yourself and join or create a team by clicking the Join Now button to the right. Each person who creates a fundraiser page and raises $100 or more will receive a free t-shirt.
Mental health disorders have often been called ‘”invisible,” but mental health stigma is not. Join us as we make a visible difference in our community and Sweep Away Stigma. Everything you will need to help us clean will be provided. All participants will receive a certificate signed by Concord Mayor Laura Hoffmeister.
If you are unable to join us on May 14th, consider helping us Sweep Away Stigma by making a tax-deductible donation online. To do so, click the Donate button to the right.

Three out of four people with a mental illness report having experienced stigma. Stigma unfairly robs them of the opportunities that define a good quality of life: employment, safe housing, and satisfactory health care, to mention only a few.
At Putnam Clubhouse we strive to educate and advocate on behalf of the greater mental health community. May is Mental Health Awareness month and we want to do our part to increase knowledge and understanding.
All proceeds from Sweep Away Stigma will be used to support Putnam Clubhouse programming. Your contribution will help provide adults in Contra Costa recovering from serious mental illness opportunities for employment, housing, education, friendship, and access to health services so they can achieve a sense of belonging and become fully engaged members of society.
