Skyline College Presents: Brian Copeland’s “The Waiting Period”

Join us on Monday, May 11th at the Skyline College Theater for this very special performance. This powerful one-man play, written and acted by Brian Copeland, provides an unrelenting look at a key turning point in his life- the mandatory ten-day waiting period before he could take possession of a newly purchased gun with which he planned to take his own life.

Laced with surprisingly funny moments that serve as a buffer against the grim reality of his intentions, Copeland hopes this very personal, and ultimately redemptive, story will reach people who struggle with depression- often referred to as the “last stigmatized disease”- as well as their families and loved ones.

This is a free event and is open to the public. Following the performance, a panel will be on-hand for a Q&A session to address issues presented in the play, and campus mental health service providers will be present to provide support for individuals who might be struggling emotionally.
