ReachOut is an information and support service that uses evidence based principles and technology to help teens and young adults who are facing tough times and struggling with mental health issues.

In our darkest hour, the thing we crave most is connection. The ReachOutHere campaign seeks to meet the needs of the growing number of teens and young adults who struggle with feelings of hopelessness and thoughts of suicide. Harnessing the power and accessibility of online and mobile platforms, the interactive forums at (English-language) and (Spanish-language) meet them where they are to provide vital peer-to-peer support and mental health information. The forums provide a safe, anonymous community to discuss a range of social and mental health related issues with trained peer leaders.

The ReachOutHere Peer Supporters are trained to reduce stigma around mental health challenges by providing empathetic responses, resources and information and by encouraging help-seeking that will enable their peers to develop coping skills and get through tough times. These passionate young Californians from 19 different counties understand the struggles of today’s youth because of their own lived experience and their training in a wide variety of mental health topics. They are deeply enthusiastic about providing support in the forums.

So tell a friend in need, a young person, or a fellow mental health advocate in your community that they can join the over 16,000 forum members and connect with others who have been through tough times. The pre-moderated discussion forums are available 24/7, include thorough crisis protocols and direct users to over 1,000 personal stories and fact sheets, all developed with youth and vetted by mental health experts.
